Letter for Students and Parents for Magnet Testing 2024Download

PRIVATE/HOME/Non-CCSD SCHOOL APPLICANTS

All applicants must be Cobb County School District residents.

The application process is slightly different for private students because the families are responsible for asking someone at the student’s current school to send student information.

  1. Non-CCSD students should register for the PSAT 8/9 additional details available on the CCSD website
  2. As additional details become available, information will become available on this website and on CCSD Magnet Programs
  3. Students should communicate with their 8th grade math, science, and English teachers to let each know that they will receive an email directing them to complete a teacher recommendation; teacher recommendations are due by January 8.
  4. A parent will need to request that the latest nationally-normed scores (any score that indicates a national percentile ranking – NPR) are sent to the Academy office by the end of January. The most common tests are Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Stanford Achievement Tests. Please send all academic records to Angie Wood via mail, email, or fax.
  5. A parent will need to submit 7th (full year) and 8th (first semester) grade transcripts; send transcripts to The Academy by the end of January. Please send all academic records Angie Wood via mail, email, or fax
  6. If middle schools needs an authorization form updated link for records request
  7. Magnet Coordinators will have access to PSAT 8/9 scores for students who completed the PSAT 8/9 at a magnet school last fall.
  8. To access PSAT 8/9 scores, non-CCSD students will need to create a College Board account.  When setting up account, keep in mind that students will use this same account throughout high school.  Please go to College Board  for more information.
