Private School and Homeschool Applicants
Private School and Homeschool Applicants
The application process is slightly different for this group of students because the families are responsible for asking the current school to send student information.
1. We need the latest nationally-normed scores (any score that indicates a national percentile ranking - NPR) to the Academy office by the first Friday in December. The most common tests are Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS) and Stanford Achievement Tests. If you do not have either of these, please call the office to discuss other options (678-331-3954).
2. If you move on to the testing phase, you are also responsible for having the school send 7th and 8th grade transcripts by the second Friday in January. This should include final grades for first semester of 8th grade. Please send them to:
Academy of Math, Science & Technology Kennesaw Mountain High School 1898 Kennesaw Due West Road Kennesaw, GA 30152
or FAX to 678-594-8209 (this comes directly to the Academy office).
3. If you wish for your student to "shadow" a current Magnet freshman, please call or email the Academy office to secure a spot. Shadow Day is available for private and homeschool students only on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. 9:00 AM-2:00 PM.
4. If you accept the invitation to attend the Academy, you are responsible for registering as a "NEW" KMHS student, and we will provide you with a list of what you need to bring to the registration appointment. Please schedule this meeting with Guidance (678-594-8190, ext. 233) as early as you can so that we can complete the student's schedule in a timely manner.
